Espoo Innovation Garden is a growth platform for a multitude of business ideas. Here, technology and ICT sector companies jostle alongside companies pursuing new innovative solutions in the health and well-being sector.

As we all know, even the most go-getting entrepreneurs need to provide fuel for their mind and body in order to perform at their best through the day. How would you like to have your favourite dish delivered hot and freshly cooked straight to your office for you to enjoy with your colleagues? Delisnap, a fledgling start-up at the Innovation Garden is making this possible.

“Working in the areas on the outskirts of the city, we have noticed that many people are unsatisfied with their lunch options in the vicinity of their workplace. We decided a few months ago to launch Delisnap to address this issue. What we have set out to do is to revolutionise the lunch experience at work, by making it easier for everyone to access great food at lunchtime. It means that we will all be able to enjoy a tasty lunch together with our colleagues without having to worry about making it back to the office on time,” explains Mikko Rovamaa, the co-founder of the company.

At the moment, Delisnap is serving Espoo Innovation Garden offices in the area between Keilaranta and Olari in Espoo. They have already delivered hundreds of meals to many high-profile companies.

A diverse community of innovative self-starters

“Otaniemi, Keilaniemi and Tapiola areas in Espoo, where our HQ is located, provide an incredible opportunity to develop new ideas and concepts. It buzzes with innovative companies and individuals that are keen to move things forward and provide a sounding board for new start-ups. It has definitely helped to be part of such a diverse community of self-starters.”

Delisnap offers a varied selection of meals every day that are prepared by the best local restaurants. The options include e.g. Japanese, Korean and Mexican dishes. The meals are delivered directly to your office at lunchtime.

“Our service is free to use, and there is no delivery fee or minimum order requirements. Once the office is registered, every member of staff can order his or her favourite meal from their own delisnap account using our mobile or web application,” says team leader Morad Boukhari.

Delisnap is currently working on its service with an international team of three ‘hungry’ entrepreneurs. Morad Boukhari focuses on product and service design and Jarno Laine ensures that all IT things run smoothly, while Mikko Rovamaa recruits restaurants and guarantees that the food arrives on time and at the right temperature.

“Our objective is to become the easiest way to enjoy your lunch at work and we plan to deliver in excess of 50,000 meals by the end of the year across the Helsinki region. Next year, our sights will be set for international expansion.”
